K&N vs Halltech

I was planning on adding a K&N air induction system on my 2000. The car is stock except for a Corsa "Pace Car" exhaust with "X" pipe. I just came across the Halltech system. Is either better than the other or is it just a cosmetic prefference?

You will find lots of opinions about induction systems. The Blackwing and the Honker seem popular. I studied it a bit and ended up with a VaraRam. The downside with the VaraRam is the potential for water ingestion. In any event, the power to be gained with an induction system, by itself, is modest.

Between the two you mention, I'd say the difference is purely cosmetic. Upside may be that the K&N filters are readily available but both brands are easily cleaned and re-oiled if needed.
