I am at wits end. Need you guys help. I have a 99 vette, just replaced the battery in the remote, went through all of the steps in the manual. When the DIC indicated FOB learned, I removed the key from the ignition, stood close to the car and held the lock/unlock buttons down until the horn chriped. After about 10 seconds, there was a clicking sound like the car reversed the resynchronization. I pressed the unlock button on the remote, but nothing happened. I had to manually unlock the doors. I have only one remote and could that remote be bad? :confused :beer

Hi there,
It is possible that the transmitter is sending a signal, even if the passive function is turned off.
I would suggest that you check around for a 00-01 transmitter, and program it without the passive function.
Yes, it will program, and see if your condition is still there.

Hi there
On my 2001 I have the same problem.
Some times the remote works and some times not.
I have read that the 2001 models weren't concerned by the problem known by GM. Is my car an exception?
Is there some thing else to do than to put the remote in accordance with the transmiter of the car.
Regards

Hi PIPO,
I would suggest that your local Chevy dealer check the transmitter function with the special tool, to see if it transmits all the time, and correctly.
