Koni shocks - opinions?

Hi,
Is anybody running Koni gas shocks? If so, what's your impression of them? I won't be auto x-ing (don't need to with the local roads ) & am running a composite rear spring & will be fitting 460lbs front springs "while I'm at it".

I just replaced my old Monroe shocks with a set of KYB's. Excellent ride quality and a good value, too. VBP sells a set that is specially valved for composite springs.

By the way, the old right rear shock was shot -- I could pull and push it several inches with no resistance...no wonder the car would undulate over dips.

I don't have the koni shocks yet, but I'm planning to get them as I'm almost ready with painting my frame and assembling the new parts on it.

Koni shocks are expensive, but they are one of the best.

I think you should try them.

Thanks for the replies. I've currently got Spax shocks fitted (supposed to be good) but they're getting old & one is seeping oil. KYB, etc would mean me getting them from the US, which makes them expensive for me (tax, duty, etc) but the UK Koni technical centre is about 3 miles from where I live.... & I can get trade discount Before buying them I'd like to get some opinions from people using them.

Paul, the adjustable konis kick butt, Bilstein etc. are no comparison IMO on our european roads

I had them on the stiffest setting and they made the car handle a lot better than the monroe sens-a-crap that were on there

I ran Koni's on my Turbo Z and IMO they are one of the best shocks you can buy. I found them to be superior to the Bilsteins.

I know what's going to happen here - it's all going to snowball on me & I'll start next summer with the entire suspension in pieces & heavily in debt :L

I did someone's suspension last year, everything w/ poly bushings, koni's, powdercoated stuff, completely overhauled steering. Total amount wasn't that bad, you can do it fairly cheap if you DIY

That's exactly what I suspect will happen - powder coating, poly bushes, etc, etc. But I'm also trying to get a new Tranny, some heads would be nice, exhaust mods.........

My teeth are fine After seeing that post I checked in the mirror & sure enough, some of them were going black So I painted them with Dulux non-drip gloss white & they look great, especially under UV light at the local Disco :crazy
