Kooloff - how many Callaways have you seen with that front glass opt.??

I know 90 Callaway's Callaway has it and have seen a couple others - how many do you suppose are out there?? :confused

I was under the impression that is the "ZR-1" glass.

The cut-out is for (politically correct) garage door opener operation.

The real reason is...........

those radar detectors (which none of us have!).

...while the Zr1 may have used the glass as well, it was a ~ $1,000 option from Callaway Cars on the 1990 and 1991 model Twin Turbo cars :cool

Yes, the cut out is for ahem, garage door openers, as they do not function well through the particles imbedded in the rest of the windshield. Radar detectors, too... ;)

I had no idea Callaway was using that glass. Good question for a Vette Trivia Contest!

Do you know if the glass is still available? If so, the windshield would be a perfect drop-in replacement for any C4, right?

Not easily available. And many suffer from delamination of the coating. They are in the $2-3,000 ballpark for glass in nice shape. I'm glad mine is doing well. ;)

My '90 has it (and in good shape) and my '88 doesn't.
