Kudos to a 57 in Colorado

I do a lot of work at the Climax Mine near Leadville in the central Colorado mountains. Last Thursday, I was heading home late afternoon on I-70 on wet and snowpacked roads with the other thundering hoards of SUVs and trucks when I was greeted by a strange and out-of-place sight. Heading west at the base of Vail Pass was a nice bright '57 red and white...cruisin' right along with the trucks and SUVs.....

To whoever you are, where ever you were heading......kudos!!! I wouldn't think of driving my '66 in those conditions, but to those that do and don't get bent over it!!!

Just wanted to pass along that little observation..

I drove my 57 in NJ. every day rain, snow, or shine for 5 years. I love to have the top down year round. Once I came out from a bar to find 3 inches of snow in the car. Its just a car. ENJOY IT while you can. I gave up on the daily driving thing when I bought my 2000 now that get slogged through the slop.

I was driving my son to school last week when a guy drove past in a silver 65 small block coupe. It looked very, very nice, indeed! I gave a wave and he waved back although I was driving my truck.

It was a rainy day and the 65 looked too nice to be splashing through the puddles but it's his car. Maybe he likes washing and detailing?
