what makes the valve covers change color? heat?

A 91 with 95K What should have been done for maintenance? ie: timing chain, injector cleaning, trany oil changed.
is there a place where all of this laid out, with out looking in the manual.
going to look at a yellow 91 in a couple days.

To which valve covers are you referring? The C4s are made of magnesium, which is porous, and oil is soaking through them -- it's inevitable. :(

I thought they only put one type of vavle cover on the L98 engine, are you saying there is more than the one type?

Not on the L-98. Just the magnesium covers. ;)

I don't know about the L-83, but the LT1 and LT4 had plastic covers I believe.

L-83s are mag, too, but can be cleaned and painted.

Funny; the car is faster now!
