Hello all. How can I tell if a '68 Corvette is an L88 or other model? I looked around the block and can't seem to find any numbers.

Thanks

Take right foot...and mash it to the floor....If it's an L88, you'll know (hehe)

If it's not the original motor, it will be pretty tough to tell without documentation. Assuming it is the original motor, check the stamp pad on the right front of the block. Of course the VIN number should appear, as well as a date code with a two letter suffix. If it's a real '68 L88, the suffix should be 'IT'.

'Jonstr' would know as he owns one of the finest L88s in the country. If I could give you any advice, it would be, get the help of someone who knows the cars intimately. There are nuances of the L88s that only a few know. You are talking a BUNCH of money here, get help from those who know.

If you have any questions, plz contact me at Mdonnally@aol.com. I think anyone here who knows me would agree.

Regards,

Mark
