:coolthe other day i saw a c5 corvette with "lambo door hinges" . i could not help myself i had to go ask the guy some questions. according to him the stock door hinges are unbolted and the new ones just bolt rt in. no cutting or trimming or welding:Twist .he payed 1500 $:pukejust for the kit. the doors opened normal and then lift up.........kinda cool kinda. pretty salty price i thought. has anybody done this to there car? i looked thru the cac and have not seen any threads about this.

I've seen vettes locally here that have had it done. Alignment is critical, and IMO the system is gimicky. Even Lamborghini no longer uses these style doors. That should tell you something.

If you decide to do it, make sure you get the ones from Vertical Doors. My wife served on a federal jury trial last year enforcing their patent. You will likely find yourself with no customer support if you go elsewhere.

I'd talk it over with the car first .Remember vetts are living breathin ' things with feelings.I'd never want to embarrass my car :D

thanks for the honesty:argue i think it is completely reversable too. i have entertained the thought a time or two:hb

;shrugyou know since it is reversable and they open normally and you have the option to lift them up......why not?:duhoh yeh, it was the 1500$

I saw those on a C5 at a 'vette show here in the Springs last weekend. I gotta admit, I didn't like it. Kinda reminded me of a woman who got breast implants too big for her frame. Gets a lot of attention, but it just doesn't look right! :ugh Personal preference, I guess.

I'm not taking a side in this, but I wanted to introduce a picture. I don't know how many of you watched Bullrun on SpeedTV earlier this year, but one of the vehicles in the competition was a C5- they made it all the way to the final three. And the owner of the vehicle had modified his Corvette:

I'll give it this: it is a different look.

it is a personal thing i think they look great and that is all i am saying all i know is that everywhere i go i got looks when i open the doors.

IMHO.. It is a lot of work, expense, and risk (you may do some damage) just to impress 14 year old girls?? On top of all that some are difficult to water seal.

Wrong gender. :chuckle
I have three neices, and I can tell you with some observational experience that 14 year old girls are focused on something called "Bratz," watching "High School Musical 3," and swooning over the guy who stars in the movie "Twilight." Lambo-style doors on a sports car wouldn't even register on their radar.

its more the price for me. 1500$ is a lot for me. i think i would try it if they were 500$. mayby im just cheep

Correct .I said to my 14 year old grandson ,in a few years you can help me drive my Corvette to Florida for the winter. His reply was "do I have To?";shrug

Bull Run, Bull Schizz ... same, same

The Bull Crap "Rally" is the .... IMHO of course .... the biggest pile of crap to hit the screen. A true ... Goldberg "Non-Event".

Most of the players were right out of a casting call and the events were mostly staged.

I "knew" one of the participants and he finally fessed up that it was for the most part a put on ... pro actors or actor wannabees.

You weren't allowed to go over 70 ... and had to wear a helmet .... :puke

Muffy and Buffy fixing a holed rad with a tampon ? ? ? ;squint:

The list of crap was endless ... :eyerole

Oddly enough, those doors were the most normal thing about that car and owner. ;LOL

Lamborghini still uses vertical doors, but not on all models. My friend owns a new LP640, and it has vertical doors.
