I hear you, when you need cooling you need COOLING. I guess if you leave the switch in the grounded position it'll be "fans on" each time you start the car. How do you "manage" or "use" the fan switch in your average drive?
I usually get on the highway pretty soon in most of my drives, and with the 160 therm in the car it stays around 180 in hot weather, if the temp goes up to 200 or higher i throw on the fans and it falls back to 170. OR, if I have the A/c on the car runs cool anyway.
Its not to hard to just keep an eye on the temp guage. Even the oil temp and the trans temp skyrockets and I just hit the switch.
This sounds like the setup for me. It's next on my list of mods. I'm always checking temps anyway. Is the stat hard to do, did you drill the "hole" I've seen recommended.
- Froggy47, The therm is a real easy job, you will spill some coolent thought. And no, I dint put a hole in the 160, it did came with a small hole to vent any trapped air.
