Latest 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Renderings

I kinda like the Volt.......maybe a bit before its time but quite a piece of engeneering......just saying.....

I do too. The concept is dead on for a commuter car.
I like the idea of thumbing my nose at OPEC and buying local. period.

How did this thread end-up with so much progressive, "I love the Volt", liberal clap-trap which needs to go to another forum? Scottfab, xfire51, Vette LVR and everyone else who wants to fight over whether or not GM is "Government Motors", "Obama Motors", "UAW Motors" or "General Motors" need to visit the Edge.

As for C7...

From an ascetic standpoint, I think the car has two problems: 1) the end of the tradition of round or rounded tail lamps. While I don't think the "inverted Camaro" tail lamps are butt ugly, I do think they make the wrong visual statement. 2) the sharp edges and little "vent thingys" here-and-there on the car's exterior seem too Cadillac-like.

Otherwise, I think the C7's look is sort of evolutionary. I'm holding my judgement on the rear quarter windows until I actually see the car.

Technically, the car is going to be quite a step forward...lighter, handing as good or better than the equivalent C6 and a powertrain influenced by the Government's forcing revised CAFE on us.

It's possible that the car in the new issue of CD along with recent computer renditions which have been all over the web in recent months is actually the 2014 Grand Sport and not the base model C7.

I'd be remiss if I didn't address the long standing prediction I made here on CAC about the C7s' engine being a 5.5L V8. When GM Powertrain debuted the "new" (perhaps we should call it the "third") LT1 with 6.2-liters and 450-hp SAE, a big fat crow was on my plate ready for eating.

Boy, did I call that one wrong.

Or...did I?

Maybe the Grand Sports get the new LT1 and the base model, if there is such as thing, will have a 5.5.

I think these comments about "Government" should be taken to another thread.
Talking out of both sides of ones face should also.
The same statement could be made without it, "a powertrain influenced by a revised CAFE...."

ENOUGH already!

Is this thread being replied to by adults, or little kids? :eyerole

OK I get it. You guys would rather debate whether it looks more like a Porsche or a Camaro, or what about those "vent thingies".
Next thing we see might be whether it looks better in Roman or Atomic Red. Some real technical stuff there !
Now who's "childish" ? :chuckle
