Can these be replaced without dropping the tranny?

Any insight or instructions on how to do it appreciated.

Looks for similar threads but didn't find any.

My guess is no, you can't.

To replace the shift shaft seals you need to drain the trans, remove the shift linkage, remove the side cover, remove the shift forks from the side cover then press out the old seals and put in the new.

My guess is you will be unable to do that with the trans in the car, but....others may know differently.

My 4+3 had O rings that were fitted on the shafts of the (part # 69 in link ) selectors from the inside .Earlier version side cover maybe?

This T10 diagram ( same trans as the 4spd part of the 4+3)
T10 Parts transmission Chevy Ford Super

shows seals (part # 71 ) pressed in to the cover from the outside but also lists the shaft O rings which are not shown.

Replacing the O rings fixed my leaks but so long ago can't recall if it also had the external seals
I would speculate both easily replaced but require removing the side cover from the trans which "doable" with the trans in the car with some dexterity :ugh

Maybe search under T10 / super T10 for better results
