Hi Folks,

Just touching base with everyone... it's been a while since I last posted. A couple months ago my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer - which quickly changed all my priorities. The tumors were removed, and she's been in radiation treatment. We're all hoping and praying that the fine Anne Arundel hospitals will be able to provide her with a clean bill of health.

With respect to the Vette, I have the big block (427) on a stand - but I decided to wait for the replacement. Instead, I've started doing bodywork to prep for painting. It's a slow and arduous process; but I want to do it right. I fixed one fender, and have now started on the left side door. I used Capn Lee's Spra-Strip. Messy stuff, but it works. I also purchased a big compressor in order to utilize air tools and a HVLP spray gun.

Wow, these old girls get ugly quick without their makeup!!! What a fine mess I've made!

Ralph

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, it is amazing these days how many people now survive cancer. My dad did a whole month of radiation for skin cancer on his shin, he went Mon - Friday for a month of treatment and so far flying colors and I wish the same for your mom.

I am sure having a project like the car is a good think to take your mind off things for a little bit.

Best regards and prays for your mother. a positive attitude is everything. Yeah, the corvette with out paint isn't the handsome hunk that plyed the roads once, but there a clean crisp image to stripped fiberglass. When you run your hand over the smooth cool fiberglas is a good touch !

My Mom went thru the same thing a few years ago and it turned out fine, she's 90 now and still going strong. Hope it turns out as well for your Mom.

Compressor setup looks nice, I'd like to do the same thing to mine but I don't have the courage:D
