Setting up the options in the DIC for the alarm I set the option for "Lights On Approach" to "On". When unlocking the car with the unlock button on the fob this option turns on the parking lights, interior lights and back-up lights. However, whether I have the setting "On" or "Off" the lights do not come on as they should. I have the "Set Alarm" option to Lights & Horn and the horn sounds and lights flash as they should. Any ideas why the approach option does not work?

Leon --

I thought I was having the same problem then after reading the manual, discovered that the approach lights will come on only if it is dark enough outside.

Checked this out by locking it in the garage...all ok, then locking it in the driveway during the day...no lights on @ approach.

You may be experienceing the same thing.

Thanks Tom, I will check this out tonight. My car works fine, but my neighbor also has a 99 FRC and his wasn't working when I tried in the sunny afternoon. I seem to remember my car working in the daylight though.

Thanks Tom, that was it. I saw my neighbor tonight and it worked no problem in the garage. My car worked in the middle of the afternoon but it was in the garage with the door open.
