Up in my neck of the woods, there seem to be quite a few C2's around. Of course, when I see them driving around, I'm usually not in mine. In the past couple of weeks, I've seen a 65/66 Maroon Vert, a 64 Silver vert, a 63 Silver/Blue FI SWC and a Maroon coupe (too fast to identify the year).

None of these owners seem to be on any of the popular forums and don't belong to any local club I can identify.

I'm pretty much an absentee member of the loose club we have here locally and I consider a couple of these forums as my club. It's just a little disappointing not to be able to swap stories/wrenching with some of the local guys around here. :(

Subfixer,

I keep a few of these in the glove box. Print them on regular 8.5" x 11" paper. They print out in landscape and can be cut in two.....there are two to a page.

Fill in as much of your info as you want and slip one under their wiper or hand it to them at a stoplight or cruise-in.

SAMPLE - opens in Microsoft Word.

HERE is the one to use. The info is blank for you guys to fill in. Also opens in Microsoft Word.

:w

If any C1 guys like the idea, you can change "midyear" to "solid axle" (in Word), or I can do one for you.

Way cool Bob. Thanks.

Now if I can figure out a way to throw it in their cars as they are going the opposite direction....... maybe fold it into a paper airplane........

Or, I can just drive my car more. We've been living with friends the last 3 weeks as our house is gutted for a remodel. All the cars I saw were in the town where we were staying.

That is a slick idea Bob. I may have to print off some of those too. I can always change "midyear" to something more important like "solid axle". :L

You know I have invited so many folks to our forum. At carlilse especially alot of folks were interested in the SR111 frames and I explained there was alot of folks shairing information about the cars here. I am just suprized we did not get an influx of new members from the show especially with you guys promoting it so well with your windsheild placards.

I know they visited my personal web site as I got a bill from the host of the site because of all the estra august traffic.

My neighbor just sold his '67 L71 coupe and picked up a very sweet '66 L79 vert a few weeks ago. Turns out the car was a local car and only a few miles away from us but I had never seen it before and even the seller told my neighbor that although it's a local car abd has been for years nobody will know the car as he never took it to any shows, wasn't involved in any clubs, etc. He just pleasure drove it mostly when he would drive down to his beach house.
Just another example of what is probably a lot of cars that people have around that we rarely see or hear of. But, just because they may not belong to a local club, or go to shows or even participate in forums such as this doesn't mean thay don't like their cars any less than we do - just that WE don't get to see or know of these other cars unless we happen to see them on the road.

Believe me, their club or forum participation really isn't an issue. I can tell these guys enjoy their cars as much as I do. It would just be nice to be able to compare notes, etc... with someone local once in a while. (plus, these guys don't know what they are missing).

Re: TADA

Bob...you da man!

It's amazing how many people you can tall about our on-line group and very few of them ever show up. Maybe it's just a hate of computers.

Bob only encourages everyone to join on CAC because he gets a $25.00 kickback for every new CAC member that he gets to join up.............. ;LOL

You should be around here for the Woodward Cruise every year - 50,000 hot rods, classics, etc. are out that day (and for most of the previous 3 or 4 days too), and for many of them, that's the only day of the year when they're out of their garage - you never see them any other time of the year. Lots of these cars only see the light of day once or twice a year.
