I have a distributor from my 1954 that has gone kaput. I have all the parts to get it back together but would like to find someone with more information than I have been able to find that can get it in perfect working order.
Thank

Can't help directly, but a distributor rebuild shouldn't be a challenge for most electrical shops, it's primarily a function of getting the shaft bushing and end-play clearances correct, setting up the advance curve by using the correct springs/weights and vacuum can, and replacing the oil pump drive gear in the correct orientation.
I keep notes on vendors I see recommended from time to time, and I have a note (taken
3 years ago) on a vendor in Sonoma who repairs vacuum advance units. Perhaps he works on distributors, or if not, perhaps he can recommend someone:

Alternatively, the NCRS offers CD's of articles that have appeared in their "Restorer"
magazine over the years; the cost for the '53-'62 CD is $100.

Here's a list of articles that appeared in the "Restorer" on early ignition systems
