Looking for a set of Y2000 painted wheels

I've got a 2000 coupe in great shape, but my polished wheels are suffering from poor clear coat paint even though I have taken good care of them. The leading edges are a mess. My local wheel refurbisher told me to get the painted wheels. The car is approaching 100,000 miles so a big investment in a new style wheel doesn't seem like a good idea. Can you have your set painted? Seems like you could have the clearcoat stripped and either painted or have them re-cleared.
