Looking for advice with my new 01 Z06 HP increase

OK so I have this new 2001 Z06 with only 3400 miles and would like to tinker with some mods. MAINLY MINOR HP increasing I thought first to get a Cold Air Intake -

#1 Several to choose from so what one is the best cold intake for the $$
#2 Thermostat - why are people getting 160 deg Thermostats
#3 Exhaust - how about the Borla Stinger 4 tip catback - What's better for close to the same money???

Keeping in mind I don't want to put thousands into breaking the engine down.... What else is a good modification to increase HP?

My understanding is that the airbox and exhaust are already pretty good in the Z06. If mods are made to the breathing of the engine, it is probably best to do the whole system, using headers and low back-pressure cats.
