My new engine management system includes Direct Fire Units (DFUs) instead of a distributor.

My question is, has anybody had experience mounting these things in a C4? Mine obviously has a little more headroom (clearance) between the hood and the plenum since I'm running the Mini Ram and not the stock L-98 plenum. I'd rather not mount them (there are two pairs of DFUs) on top of the engine, but if that is the only way...

The distance the plug wires can travel makes no difference (he said), but I don't think I can mount 'em in the cargo area at the rear of the car. :L

Suggestions anyone? :confused

I have seen them mounted over the valve covers. Plenty of room, and still close enough to the plugs. Just a matter of fabricating a platform over the covers. They look kinda cool there too:cool

Thanks Bob. I didn't see this response until now, how could I have missed it? Must be gettin' old! :L

Ken what about directly behind where is old distributer was on the firewall. That should allow the wires to be run evenly and look great as well.

Yeah, I've thought of that. I guess I'll just have to wait until the engine's back in. Thanks man. :upthumbs
