Looking for opinions on an 81 that is for sale.

Hey I was invited by a fellow Corvette club member to make a offer on his 1981 auto Vette.The Vette has a non original but rebuilt engine only 6k. on it.It has a recently rebuilt trans and rear end less than 5k on each.This guy has also replaced the radiator,front suspension,brakes,power steering etc.
The only draw backs are that the vette needs a paint job and some interior work.I know this guy takes care of his car he tells me he can produce over 16k in receipts.I would appreciate some opinions of at least a ballpark offer to start with.:confused

I don't know about the "ball park" but check if it will smog. If not you may be in for some big hassles and lots of repair costs. I bought a "good deal" a while back. It diden't smog and the DMV was messed up, I was lucky to get my money out of it.

Don't know if it helps or not but I just bought my 78 two weeks ago. it was basically as you describe the 81 and i paid $7500.
