Loud Knock with #2 Plug Out

I inadvertentlty started my "84 with the number 2 piston spark plug out. I heard this very loud knocking. That normal? Ran for about 10 seconds and I shut it off. Plugs back in, ran it for a about a minute and it was hard to tell if there's still a knocking because the car is loud and could be drowning it out. Afraid to run it now. Should I get it looked at or was the knock probably created due to the missing plug?

That's been done before........lol. With the spark plug removed and the engine running there will be a sound similar to a rod knocking.

wheres the compression supposed to do? what compression?

the cyl cannot compress anything with a hole in the head......
Thats what 9:1 compression at about 180 psi sounds like escaping thru a small hole..
