Louvers on Tail Lamps: Yes or No / Black or Chromed?

No on the louvers over the tail lights.

I put the plastic body colored molding on the front turn signal lights. I thinks it looks cool. Also installing a Raptor Shift light. Looks cool on the inside.

What would really look cool on that black C5 would be.......

.....
UM...

A picture with no rusty rotors!!!!

Sorry, couldnt resist.
What is a raptor shift light?

Pac-man can you post a link and a picture of the flush tail lights, that is where the dirt shows the most on mine. I may do the letters on mine and the license surround, but am undecided on the tail lights. Zip has a phantom kit that looks OK, but the billet and chrome look too "RICE" for me.;)

I have louvers on mine, and I think they look great! :cool

Thats what makes the world go round, different opinions. I will say the black louvers look much better to "me" then the chrome louvers. Have you ever thought about filling in the letters in red? It does look sharp.(again my opinion) ....One more thing, ahh we should talk about the quest for the perfect martini, my friend and I are on same quest!

I have black "louvers" on mine, removed them as Silver from my 98 when I sold it, painted 'em black and installed. I also have the "phantom" licence plate frame with the louvers attached also from the Silver car painted black.
Now I probably would not have bought these myself...they were a Christmas gift from my wife. You know the drill.

Actually, the red letters will be the next thing I do, once it warms up a bit. And thanks for the compliment!

Regarding the ongoing quest- Tammy can provide some evidence that I've helped improve her martinis with a few recommended additions to her bar. ;)

At the moment my favorite is a vodka (Grey Goose) straight up,shaken,a little dirty with 3 olives. Tammy...I'm all ears!

The red letters looked great on my M yellow and they really look great on the Lemanns blue too. I got the reflective red letters, the ones that are not hard plastic. Used a Q-tip to aid the application and it does not take long. They will look GREAT on the black!

Not to hijack this thread, but some time ago I gave Tammy the recipe for the "official" James Bond martini, taken from the Ian Flemming novel "Casino Royale." If you're interested, PM me and I can provide you with the recipe.

mmmmmmm, did someone say Martini! It is just the kind of cold, rainy day to mix up one of those delicious James Bond Martinis, cozy up to a fire, and watch a movie.

Now I'll have to go dig around for some of those martini threads.

I was a strict Dry-Gin-Martini-with-only-a-suggestion-of-vermouth-and-2-plump-queen-olives drinker until Patrick widened my horizons.

Tammy

(I aplogize profusely for furthering the hijack. Maybe we should start a new martini thread. It's been a while :D)

What do y'all think of these??

These are European tailights from gmpartsdirect.com and they were very cheap.
Rain, you may want to go this route rather than the louvers (personally don't like the louvers) if you want to be a bit different.

I need to build a harness now that will tap off the license plate white lights and go to each one....you could even go with just one left and right European and leave the inners stock...

MsS, you got me going. I think I'll have a Michelob lite and eat a couple olives....

Take care...

Personally, I don't like them. There was a set on my 91 and I took them off. To me that is kind of a "ricer" thing to add.
