I have an 04 coupe that I'm thimking of selling. It has a low vin, it starts with all zeros and ends with 36.

Will this low # add any value at this point?

Thanks - Great site, learned alot.

Mmmmmmmm........no. My opinion is it's a nice number but I don't see how that will add $ value to the car at this point in time........It would be worth mentioning to the interested buyer because they made 34,064 cars that year and might help you move it but I know I wouldn't pay more because of that. Good luck with the sale......

I would tend to think like Huskerman, it's a neat feature, but I wouldn't pay more for it. Maybe the last one might be worth something someday. As this is the last of the C5's. Good luck with your sale.

I agree with the group consensus: probably no value added, despite the curiosity of it being an early-production '04.

Any so-called 'serial number value,' if there at all, will typically come from the first or last in a series: like the first C5 Z06 (which was still on MSO when it sold at auction in 2010 for $49,000 -- probably a bargain for a brand new C5 Z06); or the very last C5 ever made (2004's S/N 34064, also still on MSO when it sold at the same auction for $41,000 -- probably close to MSRP). Vehicles like those perhaps command a bit of a premium (due to perceived collector's value); but outside of that, there's very little value in the serial number apart from curiosity.

Thats about what I was thinking, but figured I would ask.

Thanks Eveyone.

My 2002 Coupe is Vin 00003, but it was the first RED corvette off the assembly line. 00001 was a Blue Coupe and purchased by Bob MacDorman, but he sold it as part of his collection and 00002 was a black roadster sold in Virginia. I doubt that the low VIN would bring any more money if I wanted to sell (I don't) but since it was the first RED corvette off the assembly line, it makes it priceless.
