LS1 in a C4

why can't you use mounts from a C5 or a 4th Gen F-Bod?

The mounts on the engine craddle are a couple of inches forward of the eng mounts on the LS1.

I am pretty sure that Street and Performance makes the adaptors you need to bolt the LS1 in.
If I am not mistaken the lower mounts are welded to the cradle anyway, so the adaptors botl to the block then to your current mounts.

I have heard of a guy in Texas that has a LS1 in an 84 but not sure who he is. I have seen him post on the Corvette forum as Tracer X

Street & Peformance make adapter plates to use the stock motor mounts. The trick is the trans. You can't use the T56 because of the channel mount. There is a company working on using a ZF trany and should have it worked out with in the next 30 days.

My neighbor is a horsepower junkie and he's always working on projects. He has an LS6 in his garage on an engine stand; I saw it last night. He said that he's going to put it in his Shark. I'll believe it when I see it and I'll ask if I can take some pics for ya'll.

There's someone with a kit out already. I think it has motor mounts and headers you furnish an F-body engine and use an automatic. It ain't cheap!

The question of the week is Who is that someone?
