I have heard of LS 1,2,3,and 6 being put in a shark. Has anyone out there actually put a LS7 in a shark and if so how did it fit? And where did you put the oil reservoir? Does anyone know if the 1,2,3 & 6 would be a way easier install?

While it's not exactly a LS6-into-a-C3 conversion, it is one badass conversion nonetheless! :BOW

78Vette-SA's "Frankensport" :cool

Does it have the wings on the oil pan? I read somewhere the other day that you'd have to use a regular pan due to interference.

I've seen the wings and they'd hit. The easiest LSx swaps use non Vette oil pans and non-drive by wire TBs.

Too Kind! :w

An F-Body pan is a bolt-on and fits no problem. The "V" pans are no good for these swaps.

I run an LS6 but you can drop an LS7 in there and do it without the Oil Tank if you want to change from a Dry Sump to Wet Sump and set it up like any LS engine. Several out there make conversion kits. If you are going to keep the oil tank it can be done but will take a little extra work. Especially if you keep the A/C evap housing. But anything is possible.

You can save lots of cash by picking up a good LS2 from a GTO (and the pan fits as well as many of the accessories), slap a set of heads and a cam in there with some headers, and rock-n-roll. Get some Speed Hound Engine Mounts and Headers and a Dewitts converted radiator with dual electric fans and you are on your way and about half the cost of an LS7.

c3 with ls7

Yes there is some car out there with LS7 not many.
The price is stiff, but the engine is outrageous!!
I did the swap 2 years ago on my -72 coupe
I hawe also built the hole car new.

It works with dry sump, and the swap tok the winter on and of.
The hardest thing was that i had heard of no one do it before me, so i had to make some parts my self.
