GM Celebrates SAE With 505-HP STS
General Motors is this week displaying a car it calls the "most technologically integrated vehicle ever." The Cadillac STS SAE 100 has been created as a tribute to the 100 years of the Society of Automotive Engineers, who have their annual expo this week in Detroit. The STS specially prepared for the event includes nineteen new features never before put into production. The chief features of the car include a 505-hp, 7.0-liter V-8 that will be the standard engine on the 2006 Chevy Corvette Z06; a new six-speed automatic transmission; a 3-D navigation system; a rear-view camera system; carbon-fiber wheels; a blind-zone warning system; a capless fuel tank; lane-departure warnings and adaptive cruise control; and a rear-seat entertainment system with twin Microsoft Xboxes built in.
