LT1- at temp, dies, starts, runs for seconds, dies - help

I had thought something along those lines. Either that the installer didn't know what to do with the vacuum line, or that it was found later, and plugged without finding out were it should have been running. We'll see what happens.

I had a similar problem with my 96 LT1. It would start fine but would not start again if I turned it off after driving somewhere. It would also act like it was running out of gas while I was driving down the road even though I had a full tank. It left me stranded in an intersection too! Mr. Good or Badwrench had put an intake gasket on about a week before it started and had not replaced the waterpump correctly and it was leaking onto my optispark giving it these problems. Luckily, when the waterpump was fixed at a different dealer, I didn't have to replace the opti. So...your problem has a very good chance of being the optispark in my opinion also. Good Luck!
