Hiya all...

Im new to the forum and a new Vette owner...

I have an 88 4+3 and was wondering the fesibility of an Lt 1 swap...I have access to the engine, computer and underhood harness from an f body..

any help is appreciated or if soeone knows of a person who did this an email address would rock....

THanks in advance

Tom

Well im sure it could be done.. Probably a mission though. Personally I rather stay with the 88 l98. The f-body version of the lt1 is different from the corvette one. A few things changed, only one I can remember is the f-body one being a two bolt block. But really, for the effort involved... id beef up the l98.

ohh and welcome to the corvette action center, sorry for the late reply... this place is pretty active sometimes*, It really is a good place.

L98 vs Lt1

I agree that you should stick with the L98.

Why bother with a major swap like that when you can easily get 75-80 horses extra on the L98 with headers, cam, lifters, chip and some minor mods to the intake. Plus, add a 3:73 and you've got all you need.

The enngine will bolt in, but the hard part is going to be the accessories. THe f-body accessory setup is different than the vette and the L98 accessories setup wont work on the LT1.. youd need vette acccessories for your LT1.

I personally would just slap a set of heads and a better flowing intake manifold on and beat LT1s. You have a MUCH better and cheaper platform to modify and make fast. Regular 350 vs LT1 350.

With enough WILLPOWER, anything can be done. Owning a L98 myself, I dont think the swap would be worth it.A few mods to the L98 and it will run with ANY LT1:L

Stay with the Torque Monster L-98

L98 & the cash you would spend doing the swap = LT1 eater. ;)
