LT4 Into '93 LT1...Theoretically

Just hypothetically, if a guy had access to an LT4 engine with reasonably low mileage, how difficult would it be to replace the LT1 in a '93 coupe, both having the ZF 6 speed?

I'm hoping the same computer would control each, but I've stumbled into 'unknowns' before. Figured it'd be smart to ask before ponying up for the LT4.
Also, can the LT1 be built up cost effectively to compare with the power/reliability of the LT4, making keeping the LT1 more practical and cost effective than swapping motors?
Thx

The mechanical side of the swap would be pretty easy.

The electronics side might be a little more challenging but not impossible.

Issues to be addressed:

A 93 LT1 has OBD emissions controls
A 96 LT4 has OBD2 emissions and, thus, has catalyst monitoring and a host of other emissions controls differences.

93 has batch fire injection and a speed density engine control system.
96 has sequential fuel injection and uses a mass air flow sensor type system.

I'd think, at minimum, you'll need not only the LT4 engine but the ECM and the engine controls wiring harness. You'll also need some calibration help.

Thanks, appreciate the info! I'll try to find someone around here that might able to sort that out....
