I have a '96 with a LTPWS(low tire pressure sys). After driving the required time for it to indicate if you have a problem, it lites up on the dash. If you re-start the car after a normal period, it's not there, until the required period again. I have a code scanner, and when I hooked it up, there were NO CODES found. Does anyone have a clue about this system? I think there is a way to make the indicator lite go off, but then you wouldn't have any use of this system. BTW all tires are up to proper pressure. A bad wheel sensor??? But if it doesn't store the code how can I find which one? Thanks :w

Try grounding pins #5 to #6. Then watch the LTPWS light & count the flashes.I don't believe a scanner will give LTPWS codes?, but am not sure.

I suspect the LTPWS module is not integrates into the rest of the stuff. My '89 has different modules than yours, when I had false LOW warnings I fnally removed the sensors from the wheels, one by one, driving the car between removals, until the bad one showed up. (I had to reduce the pressure in the subject tire to less than 18 lbs to get a reaction) i finally found and replaced the bad sensor. What a PITA, and costly too - I needed a garage to dismount and remount each tire twice to get it driveable for each wheel. It was the third one that was bad. Then order a new sensor, and get all the wheels re-balanced. The good part it that it does work very well.

When mine began acting up I checked the cost and availability of replacements and decided to remove the sensors and the dash bulb.

I was having new wheels installed, so I just told the installer to leave off the LTPWS.

Replacement parts (sensors) are non-existent, so if the LTPWS isn't working properly, the next real choice appears to be what Jake did.

I know that when my sensors fail on my '92, the system will be history.
