manual shift Knob

Ok can anybody tell me a couple things about the 87 Manual shift knobs? I cant seem to find the cap (button) for the OD switch, seems its discountinued, and the car looks bad without it. Will the 6 speed buttons work? I know they have the wrong pattern but would they clip in? How about the auto button?

Failing finding a button that will work, will the Switch from an 84 (rocker switch) plug into the spot the shifter buttons switch is and I can just put an aftermarket knob on and mount the button someplace?

Also last question ( not knob related) is there a thread or help thread on filter changing in that 4+3 auto unit? What kind of time does that take, how hard is it?
