Manual trans 4-3 pops out of gear

1984 Corvette manual trans 4-3.

The car will pop out of second gear while decelerating. This mostly happens if coming up to a stop sign, from 3rd gear to 2nd gear while down shifting.

Any ideas what this is? Adjustment to linkage? Trans mounts worn? Internal Trans problems?

Please let me know. I am considering purchasing.

Pretty sure that means the 2nd-gear synchros are worn. My 86 does it occasionally if I run to high rpm's in 2nd and then abruptly lift, and I've heard a number of people experience the same problem.

I agree wi rrubel. Exact same symptoms on my 88. Fixed syncros and no longer have problem.
