Will a 1985 Trans Am mass air flow sensor work on my 87? The Trans Am was a 305. Thanks

Justin

Not Sure

Yea it will probabally fit but will it be right ??? Who knows. I would guess with it being from an older 305 engine it may not flow as good as yours ... maybe it flows better. Im not sure if there is a voltage difference between the two but that would also be something to consider.

Hope this helps

:w

Is yours bad, did you get a check engine light or code 34. If so, many times it will be the MAF relay and burn off relay located behind the battery.

Was the TA a TPI system?

I picked up a MAF for $50 from www.vette2vette.com a couple of years ago. They're not that expensive and you really should be 100% sure when it comes to electrical parts.

I would say that it would fit, BUT!!!!! You have to ask and probe arround with a VOM, to find out if it will have the same spec as far as measurement and what the output is to the computer. What goes in goes out, and it is all apart of what the computer will tell the various controlling sensors in the FI system. There is a difference in the 305 and 350 computers, check it out closely.....The price is right if it will work.....

From everything I've read, the F-body MAF will work just fine if its from the L98.
