what is the factory rev limiter set at for the LT4?
and what is the max you will take it up to wanting to be safe...

just curious.....

yes, i meant redline.

6300 rpm's.

then I guess it will still get above 6300 even though spark and fuel are being dropped....

LT4 Redline is 6300 rpm.

LT4 fuel cut is 6400 rpm.

The engine will only go to 6400 on its own.

Factory tachometers can be off quite a bit as well as the engine can be forced to exceed 6400 easily...simple go 100 mph and drop it into first gear...it will wrap the rods around the crank in that case-fuel cut won't have any control of it.

I have reved my stock short block to 6800 rpm several times...but really 6500 is about as much as I feel comfortable with-yes I have used LT1 Edit to readjust the electronic fuel.

:)

I had mine to 6800 a few times and I felt the limiter.
today another LT4 owner spun a bearing at 5000rpm....
go figure.
