Maybe a stupid question..

I just bought a '01 today with 41k. My question is about the oil pressure reading on it. It's all the way on 80 PSI. I'm totally new to C5s and I probably should have read the hot topics on here, but I don't have much time in my day so I thought I'd go ahead and ask anyways. Is 80 PSI normal?? Thanks in advance!

No 80 psi is not normal. It's a common C5 problem to need to have to replace the sensor.

Yup, jrose is right. The sensor is a common issue. There are lots of ways of going about changing it out too.

Sensor. I'm on my third one. No biggie. Just make sure you get the updated one, not the first version.

You not only need to replace it, you should also relocate it because it is going to go out again. If you relocate it, replacing it the next time is a 10 minute job (as compared to 1-2 hours).
