Can anyone tell me how I can keep mice out of my vette for winter storage ??? I stored my h2 hummer and the mice got under the hood and chewed the liner against the fire wall also the fabric blanket that wraps the battery... Lt4 coupe I'm about to store for the first time and I'm terrified that they will do damage ?? Any ideas out there !!!!
Cheers Steve

Good ol' mousetraps and poison work for my motorhome that sets outside.

I assume that your storing inside .

I sprinkle moth ball crystals on the floor under the car (not a lot). Then I use a product called "One Bite".You just have to be careful of domestic animals because one bite is one bite.

Good luck :)

I've never had any luck with conventional moustraps.

Glue traps work ok but they tend to get covered with dirt/leaves/bugs and lose their effectiveness within a few weeks.

I tried one of those electronic gizmos that claims to scare them away by 'creating an acoustically hostile environent' :rotfl and I'm not terribly impressed. I put it right in front of a glue trap and the next day there was a mouse in the trap.

I made a mousetrap out of an old laundry soap container, a beer can and a dowel and I caught 5 mice in 2 weeks with it.

-cut the top off the container
-poke 2 holes near the top (for the dowel)
-drink beer
-punch a hole in the bottom of the can so that can fits loosely over the dowel
-slide dowel through one side of container, slip on the beer can, slide dowel through other side of container.
-smear some peanut butter on the can
-pour an inch or two of water into container (antifreeze in the winter)

Mice will go after the peanut butter and fall into the container. I put this outside the garage, last thing I want to do is encourage them to come inside.

heres something that a old car collector shared with me that really works and its cheap too . go buy a 3 pack of irish spring soap. cut each bar int 12 pieces and place 16 pieces around in the interior and engine compartment of your car and 4 pieces around the base of each wheel .. these little buggers hate the smell of this stuff .total cost 2.99

I understand it works but at my age I'd forget where I put all the chunks ;LOLThen my wife would want to know if I've been entertaining a hooker

I know there are many opinions expressed on this subject from time to time. But with that said I witnessed the simplest solution of all for keeping the little critters out from under the hood.

Leave the hood open............:upthumbs

The critters like to do their work out of sight, I saw a '71 Camaro and a '59 corvette stored in a garage that haven't moved in years with the hoods open. Not a sign of a mouse only a layer of dust. They did however have a piece of stretch wrap over the air inlet to the filter assembly.
