Hi

I am going to be ordering today some microfiber towels for my C5 and my wife will never know l have them so keep that in mind.

There were so many different kinds l was puzzled on what to order. I have always used 100% cotton domestic towels.

What sizes do l really need and for what purpose like using as a wash cloth and then drying?

Being that l never used a microfiber towel l could use a little help.

Also the orig owner told me not to use my calif duster because it will leave small scratches. True or a fish tale.

Thanks

Alan

Alan,

I order mine from www.pakshak.com and think they're the best quality. I have quite a few in the 16x16 or 20x20 size, plus I use large waffle weave towels to dry the car. I use the microfibers for everything...glass, wiping off the polish, dusting the dash, etc.

I personally don't like the California duster, but there are many out there who do!

Which softness ???????

Hi GS Diva

By the way great name, the micro fiber come in three different types;

ultra
ultra plush
ultra fine

And the waffle come in;

micro ultra 16x27
micropak 25x36 waffle

This is really what l was asking.

I am still sooo tired from my trip to Ohio to pick up my new C5 and then drive it home.

And last Monday night l had to stay up with my dog so it wouldn't scratch a hot spot.

Thanks

Alan

Sorry, l'm still so tired l just realized that l started this thread in the wrong area!

GS Diva where are you ??????????

I would like to order the microfiber from Pakshak but l need a little help.

Thanks

Alan

I've used a calif. duster since '95 on vettes and never noticed any scratches........not if it's used as a DUSTER.........

Alan,

I'm using PakShak's ultra microfiber. I don't know about their waffle weave as I have a couple from Adams Products, not from PakShak. I would think that the larger one would be fine for drying the car. At least, that's what I use the waffle weave for!

Good luck...I don't think you'll go wrong with any of PakShak's products. They last and last, too!

GS Diva !!!!!!!!!!

While l understand that you use the ultra micro fiber, but what l am asking is being that they sell three different kinds or grades, which one is the right one to buy.

Please pick one

Ultra Smooth

Ultra plush

ultra fine

Thanks

Alan

Alan,

Ooopss!! Sorry...I forgot to put ultra smooth!! I do have one of their ultra plush but don't really see that much difference. I think you'll be happy with the smooth grade...I am!

Thanks, l will place my order over the weekend because they are closed, sat and sun.

It's ok because it's cold here in New Jersey.

Hi

This is what l am going to be ordering, any comments?

Micropak 16x16 ultra smooth 3 pak

Probably for applying suds.

Micropak 25x36 waffle weave towel (1)

Drying car, l use a leaf blower so it is almost dry by the time l need a towel

Micropak waffle weave glass towel (1)

for glass

Or should l use the 25x36 waffle towel for the glass also?

What do you use to buff after applying Zaino wax?

Thanks

Alan

I tell you what, though. After having tried a few different brands of these "microfibre" thingies, I've found that they don't even come close to the quality that the 3M detailing cloths are, and don't do as good a job at picking up dust and for wiping down the vette with detailing spray, OR simply removing polish and buffing afterwards.

Here in Kalifornia packs of 20 are available at Costco. Yellow in color, work great so far, use them on all our cars, and our boat. Are washable, but should only be washed with other micro fiber cloths, and no fabric softener. Just follow instructions on the package side.
