Hello everyone

The glass fell out of my passenger door mirror. I was wondering if anyone knows what holds it in place. It looks like some kind of silicone.

Thank you for any help.

Actually, it may be silicone. And, it will work. Suggest using a razor blade to skim off the old stuff, then some Brakleen (brake parts cleaner) to prepare the surface-and maybe a Scotch-Brite pad to help scuff it up a bit for new adhesion. This would be the base, I would only clean the glass itself-the razor and pad may scratch the mirror section.

Permatex blue silicone will work. I think you could also use 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive as well.

Amazing the mirror didn't break when it came off. Lucky! :)
