Mix & Match Tires?

I agree; to each their own, there are pros and cons to either. Again I am just glad there is a choice being my C-5 has no provisions for a spare. A spare is something that is both a pain and the last thing you want to use but it is an insurance at least and that is what the run flat is to me.

Initially, this thread started with a question about mixing Goodyear and Michelin run-flat tires.

Three words: don't do it.

The Goodyear and the Michelin run-flat tires have fundamental differences in their casing designs. The Goodyear is more stiff and the Michelin more soft. This is why a Goodyear EMT can last 200 miles at zero pressure. whereas the Micheline is only rated by it's mfg. for 50 miles with at zero pressure

With tires having stiffer sidewalls up front and tires with softer sidewalls out back, the car's handling, especially, at corner entry and in transistions going to be noticeably different and might even be degraded. In an emergency evasive maneuver, the effect on handling could frightening, perhaps, even causing loss of control of the vehicle.

You need to either run all Goodyear EMTs, all Michelin run-flats or switch to a non-RFT such as the new Goodyear Eagle F1 AS.

This would be my feelings and thoughts exactly. Never liked mixing tires at all and it has to be esspecially important with run flats would be my guess.
