I am looking for something to waterproof the wiring connectors. Is there a spray available to keep moisture out of the connectors. When it rains the connector on top of the opti gets moisture in it and and the engine stops running. If I wait until the heat of the engine drys it out it starts right up again.

John,I use Boeshield T-9 on All electronics connections and hundreds of other uses!:thumb

Is that similar to LPS ? or other silicone water displacing sprays for electronics?

I think its LPS-2 or 3....(made just for elec connections)

It looks like the only place I can get the Boeshield is Indianapolis at Rockler Woodworking Store. I could order it from the manufacturer but then I would have to pay shipping. Since I like to work in wood I think a trip to Indy is in order.

I discovered today that the electrical plug that goes into the opti DOES NOT have a rubber sealing ring on it. That could be part of the problem with moisture. I think a trip to the junk yard to look for a rubber sealing ring is next.

Water tight ?

I have used both of these with great success and if you need a larger dose I go with the 3 tube of silicon tubes of silicon sealer or lube from Mid-America it's GM part #10131290 and or the smaller version of the same thing, (But it is almost a universal part in stock anywhere on the plant, "Permatex Dielectric Tune-up grease #81150 or #67VR, either way you have the same stuff in both items. I used the GM silicon ion all of the seals on my two vehicles and if you buy the 3 tube item from Mid-America you'll have enough of it to last you for the next five years. . . If we make it that far. Good Luck !

LPS don't even come close to the protection that Boeshield provides!:thumb
