Pretty awesome Vette!

Get your bids in on this fine machine of history :thumb

The Owens-Corning #12 L-88 went to Rick Hendrick for a cool $1,000,000.00. With the documentation and history that car has, I'd say that is cheap. But if you're not into cars in general, and Corvettes in particular, then you wouldn't care anyway. My regret is that I was unable to participate in the bidding once it went over $25.00:D

:cool!:

Dude...don't bitch.
At least you had the money to get yourself to Scottsdale.

With all Mr. Hendrick's recent purchases, I'd sure like to see his museum some day. I heard he built a big building on the Hendrick Motorsports "campus" just to house his car collection.

Yes, he did - it's his "Heritage Center" for the collection. Our NCRS National Convention was in Charlotte in 2010, and we were the first outsiders to be admitted inside to see the collection, which is simply incredible, with store-fronts, gas stations, a drive-in theater, amazing lighting, fixtures, and memorabilia everywhere. We weren't allowed to take cameras or phones inside, but here's what it looks like from the outside. Rick employs over 1,000 people at the Hendrick Motorsports complex in Charlotte.

Slick Rick's Vette collection has surpassed the 150 number long ago. Neither the Vettes nor other collector cars are really on display. I hope he opens the collection to the public some day - not only for friends and special groups. He does support the Museum, so I guess he really deserves some props.

Love to see it . . . . . . .

Love to see his collection, I do hear he does some good things for charity :cool!:
