"This small-block makes muscle far in excess of what the majority of performance enthusiasts require."
Sounds like a left-wing liberal statement to me!

"Long live the all-American Corvette".

Thanks again Rob for this pointed me toward this very interesting article.

Amen!

He should be taken out back and....:grinshot

The only requirement for a performance enthusiast is more performance!

Motor Trend Quote...

"That said, it's interesting to note that every fourth car being built today at the Bowling Green, Kentucky, plant is a Z06 model, with its LS6 V-8 making 405 horsepower. "

The statement from the article above is why I think that the Z06 should stop with the C5's departure. I hope the C6's high performance RPO option will be different.

My addiction has me subsribing to R&T, MT, C&D, AW, and the new "Corvette" magazine. That MT rendering has had me concerned for several weeks now. MT certainly came close in predicting the look of the C5, but I REALLY hope they have missed the look of the C6 by alot. I think their front and back are just ugly. Too buzy ... and Squarish headlights. The roof is one large blind spot. I don't like it at all :puke

We know they've missed the taillights and exhausts - the Beta backup lights are mounted low on either side of the center tail pipes, not in the tail lights. But who knows about the rest. They could be tragically correct.

As far as the data, MT is the only source out there still saying that the engine will be DOD. I hope they are right about this, but doubt it. I think DOD will eventually allow very significant power and torque results. Who here wouldn't want the 425 & 500 HP they quote? I think the things that they said won't happen (i.e; twin in-block cams) will, in fact not happen. But this time arround, I don't think they were able to gather enough intelligence to support their published forecasts. Like you and me, they will be pleasently surprised with the C6 when we all see it together. But they WILL NOT be saying, "See I told you so."

Now as far as I'm concerned the wheels in that picture are nice fat spokes that allow for Bling Blinging in the sun!:cool
