Moving to the dark side

Yea, after I test drove those two in KC a month or so ago, I was pretty much sold. I really like the looks of 94 better and I like the feel of the "cockpit" but as I get older the ease of egress and entry will be better.

To be honest JA, red would not have been my first choice, but this car is beautiful. I haven't had a red car in over thirty years, and it was tough to keep clean, but I didn't have a garage at that time, not the time to really maintain it the way I do today, so I am sure this will be OK

Tom, you will love the C5 coupe. I was fortunate (and have an understanding wife) that I am able to keep the 94 and 02; love them both. Now about the red color. It is almost perfect - torch red would have been my choice, but as I have said before, I am biased as all 6 of my vehicles are red. I know how hard it is to give up the 94, everytime I think of selling or trading mine for a C5 or C6 vert, I get in it and do not want to get rid of it. My understanding wife will let me get a third one after she remodels the kitchen or builds an addition to the garages. She had not made plans for either. I think I would really like the new GS convertible in Torch Red that will come out in 2010. Would be a great birthday present for my 70th.
Anyway, you and Rosie will absolutley love the new coupe.

I did it. I sold my 1989 C4 and bought a 2004 Red C5 convertible. Thanks for all the help with the C4. I'll be on the C5 site too but will check in here from time to time. See ya 'round the forums!

Fullback32, where did you get the 04? I looked (on the internet) for C5's in the COS area but really didn't have much luck.

More details on your car please.

Congrats on the C-5,Tom I've had the opportunity to drive a C-6 but turned it down because I was afraid I would turn around and sell my '81 the next day!!!!!
she'd a real beauty!!!!! Good Luck!!!!!:upthumbs:upthumbs

Thanks Bill, 24 hours from now I'll be on my way, hopefully nearing halfway. I'm getting pretty excited, but I need to keep the anticipation down, so as not to be disappointed, if it is not what it appears to be in the pictures.

I found it by pure chance at Al Serra Chevrolet. I was having some minor work done on the C4 and saw it on their lot. For giggles I decided to see what kind of deal I could get on it. Five hours later of sticking to my guns, not budging a millimeter and talking to the salesman, assistant sales manager and finally the sales manager, I got exactly what I wanted. It's amazing what these guys can do when you make it clear that you WILL walk.

It is a 2004 with 29,000 miles, automatic, Magnetic Red Metallic, Oak interior and rag top, Polished Aluminum Wheels , Performance 3.15 Axle, Z51 Performance Handling Package, Corsa exhaust, the 1SB package (heads-up display, power telescopic steering column, auto dimming mirrors, memory package and twilight sentinel), body side moldings, and just about every option available for the 2004 except the CD changer (the stereo is Bose with single CD). It's in outstanding shape inside and out. I miss my 1989, but dang, what a difference in performance and comfort! I love it! :)

I brought it home Monday night and I was so excited I literally could not sleep in anticipation of driving it Tuesday. I was exhausted at work that day, but adrenaline kept me going! :D

BTW, these guys in Denver usually have a pretty good selection of 'vettes. They have like three or four C5s right now. http://corvettesonlydenver.com/
