For the past 5 plus years, I've been using a cassette adapter in the
cassette player of my '94 to play my iPod. It's great until the rubber
drive belts wear, etc. At the moment I possess 2 Bose cassette
players and the original Delco, which I like the best. I have been
swapping out each periodically when I have belt problems. I've
grown very tired of this procedure, especially after this morning.
Does anyone know of '94 Delco or Bose radio with the iPod/mp3 "plug" right in the radio? ('94 LT1) Thanks

Donne, when I had my 94 the CD player didn't work, so I sent it in to have that fixed, the guy that fixed it asked me if I wanted to have a jack installed so I could plug in an MP3 player. He said I can make it look like it was there from the factory........I was an idiot and told him "No, I don't have an MP3 player" Later I wished I had gone ahead and had it installed. Actually thinking about sending in the one out of my 01 to have it done.

I'll have to look up the info on the guy I had fix it.

Donne, I sent a message to the guy to ask about adding a jack to a Radio. When i hear back, I'll post up.

I don't believe there is an adaptor specifically for the Delco/GM Bose system as this stereo was Pre-MP3 or any other similar type of source.

There is a universal adaptor that allows you to "tap" into your antena's wiring so you can "tune" into a specific radio station (one that isn't being used by any local station). You then hook up your MP3 player to a transceiver that sends out a very weak signal that is picked up by the adaptor. It's similar to an unwired FM transmitter that your radio station tunes into except signal is stronger since it is directly wired to your radio's antena. It's not ideal though because you're limited to the signal strength and it is very weak thanks to FCC regulation on any transmitter.

The ideal set up is a line-level adaptor that goes directly into the back of your Delco/GM Bose system which you can then select as an auxiliary source. However, I don't know if the head unit in your car has a line level input to accept such a connection. I would think that any competent car stereo installer can rig up a hard wired connection for you somehow.

Donne, I didn't forget about you, they just got back to me yesterday....I'm not sure whether or not it worth it, they shot me a price, but it's gone way up since I last talked to them. If you are interested PM me and I'll give you the contact info and let you talk to them.
