Hey all,

I am just about done with installing the new create engine and dealing with the new disty now. However, this new MSD electronic advance is a little confussing due to the dip switches to controll advance.

Is anyone running the MSD E-curve disty?

Thanks in advance.

You just select the advance curve you want from the chart and set the dip switches accordingly; do you have the instructions?

JohnZ,

Thanks, I do have the instructions but they are terrible and there are areas with a lot of misprints. I have spent hours speaking to the folks at MSD. I have to say I am extremely disapointed with the level of support there. I placed 3 calls with them today and got 3 different answers.:mad .

I even had to get my engine builder on the line and he actually hung up on the folks there at MSD because he said they were clueless.

Sorry for ranting and raving.

I think I might just lock it out and dial it all in and see what happens.

Thanks,

I don't know what came with your distributor, but here's the installation instructions and advance curve selection charts you can select from; seems pretty straightforward. Select the (electronic) centrifugal curve you want, match it to the vacuum advance calibration you want, get the switch settings that match that combination from the cross-reference chart, and set the switches. Forget the "retard", "lock-out" and other mumbo-jumbo - that's race-car stuff.

John,

Thanks... I think I got her going now. I just need to find how soon the advance should come in. This is a very simple disty and I think we will start seeing more of them in the future.
