It would have been alot easier to cast a vote if we had a little more info on the car. Miles, condition, Vert. or Coupe, Type of trans, any previous mods, use when finished, etc. I voted a SC 350 but that is just for the street scene. If you are going to race it (1/4 mile) I would go all out. Maybe if you shed a little light on the subject you will get more answers. Just my $.02.

yeah good point

140,000 miles, bad shape. will have 4+3 in it for a while. mostly going to be a show car. I see what you mean though. if it only had 2,000 miles on it, i would never change it. but it looks like it was pulled up from the ocean

What about other small block combo's? Strokers, ya know.

yeah i wouldn't vote either of those options. BB setups just too expensive to do in a C4.

i'd vote 434 SBC Shafiroff street dominator motor! comes with 550+ hp and a boat load of torque! if that doesn't do it slap a procharger D1 on her :D

Been there, but my car was visually beautiful. My summary lies below, but be prepared for MANY more issues if you try to do the BB. If you choose forced induction, ensure your engine components are chosen with that in mind. You can 'blow' any motor, but where ya going to get fuel for a turbo/super-charged mouse, already at 10+:1 compression?

My engine experts asked me what I was going to do with the car. THEN, we proceeded to choose the best path. Turns out, building a 406 was cheaper than doing the crate thing. I had considered, and really wanted, another RAT motor, but smog rules, weight (unless I sprung for aluminum block) and fitting it to the car with proper in/out plumbing ruled it out quickly.

The stroker engines referred to above have nearly the same stroke (low end grunt) as a Rat and you will find that the current technology will deliver as big a smile, with less overall pain, than the old stuff did. My memory says that my LS-6 crate pushed my modded '71 like none other, but my current package is probably faster!

.....

Well it's not really the monster power I am after, actually I just like the look of the Supercharger. It's impressive!!!!! I actually have been concidering the mini-ram. Just don't know much about the mini-ram. I looked at the web site TPIS and it really didn't answer all my questions. You figure $600 for good injectors, $900 for the mini ram, fuel rail.... and more. you are around $2,000. May as well get the Super charger.

I read everyones input. so keep it come'n :) I give everything considerable though.

keep on rock'n

Recommend a search on this site for the mni-ram. You'll get quite a lot of input.
