I'm proud to say fellas my LT4 dyno on a Dyno Jet, at 306 HP and 315 Torque! I was really happy considering it is mostly stock! The Dyno Tech said I had the perfect Torque curve! It went straight up and across. I would post the results but I don't have a scanner.
I have the following mods: Flowmaster cat back system minus the resonator, an Slp cold air intake (the Claw)

Very good! Nice to know. I have my new Corsa exhaust sitting in the garage and I plan on adding the claw. I guess I would be around the same . Guy

Good numbers. I too have the Corsas and the claw. Whats your mileage?

I have almost 75,000 miles on it. Funny thing is it seems to run better now than it did when I first bought it at 17,000 miles.

I started auto Xing last summer and loved it! Since that time I have really upgraded my chasis. I put Dave Coopers Camber brace on, his Cross Frame, and I also race with the top off using his Targa Truss. I also got slotted rotors with thick carbon mettalic pads the brakes are freakin crazy now! Oh I also put a 30mm sway bar with poly-ur bushings. I can't wait for next April when WSCC Auto X starts again. I bought a nice set of used 17x11 inche ZR1 rims for all four corners. I put Toyo Proxes racing tires on it and man does it grab! My G-Force TA's were just too small they kept slidding on the turns. Now I just use my chrome plated stock rims for the street and the ZR1's for the track. Scott

What was your impression of the Camber brace, and Cross Frame?

Notice any difference with the sway bar or bushings?

I pick up my hotcam today and suspension is next! any input is appreciated.

Camber Brace Cross Frame, Yo it's the best thing going for a C4. They both prevent 98% of frame flexing and really improve the quality of ride even if you don't race. The Camber Brace really improves the corning big time. I put the sway bar and bushings on the same time I put the Cross frame on. It was like night and day. The sway bar completely eliminates all of the roll. Just make sure you buy poly urethane bushings. You can get them in Mid America the company is called Prothane, it's priced well at twenty bones.
I can't tell you much about the hotcam since my engine is stock but I think you should get your Vette Dyno'd before you do the install. It would be great to have a baseline something I never did. Scott

Thanks! Sway bar........That was 30mm on the front, right?

Yeah 30mm, buy it from GM. Call Chris may at Superior Chevrolet at 1-800-728-8267. He will sell it for 10% over cost. But buy the bushing through Mid America. Poly Urethan. You'll be set speed racer! Scott

I did my first dyno run this morning - 306.2HP and 324.3 T - on a Mustang dyno. It's 44 degrees here but the dyno was inside.

The old 92 has fresh bearing and rings with 500 miles since the rebuild. It also has LT4 heads, LT4 intake, LT4 Hot Cam and a chip from FastChips.com. Other, stock 92 LT1 exhaust and induction with a K&N filter.

You mention Hot Cam. GM makes a special Hot Cam for every engine ie, LT1, LT4, LS1? Or is it the same forged Cam for every engine?

Then cam I am using is called the "LT4 Hot Cam". It fits LT1/LT4 motors and older L98 and first generation small blocks. There is a "350 Hot Cam" in the catalog also. They are different.

However, the LT4 Hot Cam has the rear distributor gear and the mechanical fuel pump lobe - which the LT1/LT4 doesn't need or use.

The LT4 Hot Cam is 279/287 duration with .525/.525 lift. I don't know the specs on the 350 Hot Cam but it is probably similar.

Nothing about an LS1 will fit in an LT1/4 or first gen small block as far as I know - and vice versa.

Fug,

Did you think it was the 315's that helped you on the auto-x or the change in tires?

The HOTcam is 218/228 duration and .525 lift with 1.6 roller rockers.

Sothpaw, I never had 315's, still don't. The Toyo Proxes are 275 40's. I'm sure if I had 315's that would really help! I bought the tires on the rims so I'm going to use them until they ware out. To answer your question, 1. Racing tires get hot and sticky you probably already know this, I didn't, and the stickier they get the better they grip. 2. Having an oversized rim really tightens up the ride and prevents the side walls of the tires from flexing. Flexing is what makes the tires roll up on high speed cornering and roll up they will! I never slid so much in my Vette with my stock rims. The other thing I noticed was my G-Force TA's seemed to have incredible wear! I already have over ten thousand miles on them and they look only halfway worn! Impressive considering I recently went through two Auto X's on em. I checked the tread wear and they are 300. Which means it's a harder rubber great for miles but not so good for high speed cornering. The other line they make id the G-Force KD now that I think is a racing tire it has a tread wear of only 180 or 200. Bet those suckaz grab! If you want to go cheap Kumo Xtas are great for Auto X. Later! Scott

Yo cgtarga1 your car looks freakin sharp! Somehow I'm guessing your a street/ Drag racer? Thanks for the 411 on the Hot Cam. Sounds very similar to our LT4 cam as far as lift and duration. Most likely it's forged instead of cast?

Fug,
Oversized rim--you mean the 17-11 ZR1 rims? But you are not running 315's on them, 275's?

I'd think lower profile (285_40_17 vs 255_45_17) would help with the sidewall stiffness. I don't see why wider would help.

My GSC's have been through 16k mi now, plus 6 autocrosses. The front left one is worst but still has life left.

This duration is at 0.050 lift. What I posted before is at lash point or no lift.

Just trying to avoid any confusion. I should have posted both numbers the first time.

Southpaw, I bought the ZR1's 17x 11's used and they came with Toyo 275 ZR 40's. I'm going to use the tires until they wear out. When they do I will most likely go with 315's all the way around. Oh and that's the biggest tire (275) Toyo makes for a 17 inch wheel. So we'll see what I think after next April.
Later! Scott

For shoes, it depends on what you want to do with the car. If you're running a rally, 17" rims with Neko tires are about as good as you'll get. However, if you're a drag racer (like me), you want a 15" rim with soft Mickey Thompson E/T treet slicks for the track, but run 17" Nittos on it in case you have to blow some poor schmuck's ass away on the street. Nitto makes a great soft, sticky tire, but they don't last long. If you get 20,000 mi., you're a happy guy.
