My lady presented me with a tempting deal! AHHH

IMO, keep the vette. Sell the third car and take $1000 to a Buy Here/Pay Here dealer and put that money down on a $2000 or $2500 car and pay the beater off $200 a month. That's what I did. Two years later, I still have the beater.

I do agree with others about her maybe having some issues with the car. I know my wife would never ask me to sell the vette. It would be my idea first. Besides, she has her own set of keys and if she ever said that, well, I would just tell her to sell her Harley.:D

Good luck! In the end, it's all on you anyway.

What part of Misery are you moving to?

See what I'm talkin' 'bout, 87blackroxi?
ZumZum posted his comment while I was typing mine, so I didn't even know his existed until my post posted. He basically touched on everything I said, but in a more concise manner. And it sounds like he's speaking from experience...the same experiences I just said!

it starts with the vette but where does it end?

OK now you are hitting where it hurts ... I really don't think I could ever give up either one ..
Women are a dime a dozen but a good Jeep or Vette is hard to find .. :L
OK tell her to put down the frying pan I was Just Kidding ! It is pretty evident that I am Jeep guy as well as Corvette guy..
The two usually do not mix well. Most Corvette guys look down on the redneck Jeep owner kinda like the Jeep crowd looks at the snobish yuppie Corvette owner . Its all a matter of personal choice but..
You have had Jeeps in the past and and probably know what it takes to build a great trail / rock rig. I am not really that impresseed with the Rubicon , seems to easy to me and the value is going straight down as soon as you walk out the door with it... I personally would keep the Vette , sell the third car , pick up another Jeep and fix it the way you want it.. This is my Corvette , there are many like it............but this one is mine .

Yep you know me Andre , don't let the banjo pickin fool ya ...:L

It's past time to trade the lady and keep the Vette. Look man, she's been nagging you for over two years now. Once a nag, always a nag.

Time to move on .................

:ugh

someone once said: a jeep is a jeep, but a corvette is a great ride (or something similar. i think it had something to do with cigars, but i'm too old to remember correctly, lol!!)

my vote...................don't do it. obviously you are the one who has to make the choice, but i can tell you from experience, no matter what you think or plan for that matter, things just don't work out the way you figure they will. i always thought i would get another vette soon again after selling my second one (a 69 convert) in 1977. it took until 1993. something about the best plans of mice and men????

anyway, think long an hard before you pull the trigger on this one. personally, it sounds to me as if you're not as in love with your vette as you think because you just seem to "love the rubicon" and seem to want it at all costs, but that's just my opinion.

WOW,
I leave for lunch and the wolves attack!
Now I understand I am part of a corvette community and that I have always wanted a corvette since I was a kid and that I have one now. But prior to the vette I have always owned 4wd vehicles, predominantly jeeps. SO I am torn here.
A couple of the other factors involved here are that I am moving in with her parents in St. luois until we save for a house. With that being said, If I keep the vette, that puts us at 5 vehicles in all. So the pressure is there as well, her parents aren't excited about it. Also we have discussed this a little bit, even just when I was at lunch we talked about it. So it's an ongoing process. I am 50/50 right now.
I know I will truely miss the vette, But I truely know I will love off roading again. So it's a catch 22.
Granted she is not a huge fan of the vette, but she understands my passion for it and respects that. I just don't have that respect from the parents. And i will be living under their roof for up to a year.
So if I do sell the vette I will at least drive something I will enjoy.

And yes I know secretly in the back of my mind, I probably won't get another vette for at least 10-20 years. But I am almost ok with that. Vehicles come and go. But when you truely find a lady that is your soul-mate, that's hard to replace. That is one of the most important things in this equation that is making my decision.

You’d still be driving an American icon if you bought the Jeep... and, Jeep owners have a wave like us Corvette owners.

I couldn’t imagine being without a Corvette, gives me nightmares. :W

I vote keep the Vette!

Seriously though, good luck with your decision.

Last time I checked, they made 'WAY more women than corvettes.

Keep the vette.

Buy the Rubicon.

Get drunk.

Forget about this woman.

Find another woman with superior fit and finish and an understanding attitude. Recent body work a definite plus. Unlimited supply.

What's wrong with new picture?

It's first where I learned the kinship of the wave when I drove my first jeep.

The decision is not made yet. we still have a little more discussion to have.
(but suppose I can't find a buyer for the vette? ;) )

St. Louis is a great town. The Landing is a fun place to party. And I do love those Cardinals:beer

Would you keep your vette for $60/month?

$45 monthly storage, $15 comprehensive insurance...

here is an other option
sell her car and the other car
buy your jeep and buy her a bus pass
that way u still got ur vette and ur jeep and are down to 2 cars like she wants

Insurance itself is dirt cheap on the vette. $404 for 6 months. Buying another vehicle for winter is the tought part.

Given the reponses I've received, I plan on talking to her tonight a little more.
I really am liking Cj5nutz' idea but I don't know If it will fly. "Corvette by summer, Jeep by winter!"
Still the 5 cars at the parents is the toughest part to win. But the above idea of storage may work too.

I think I need a drink!:drink
