I ran the Redline waterwetter last summer and it seemed to help drop the temp about 10 degrees or so.

Thanx, cmegga, I'll check their products out! Dave :Steer

Tell him to check a piston manufacturer's catalog - they definitely sell .020 pistons for the small block.

Joe

MOST TRW-Speed Pro-Sealed Power Cast & Hypereutectic pistons for 350 sbc are available in 0.020" over. One or two of their Forged ones are also. Similar choices for Clevite-DANA-Perfect Circle. But you won't find many twenty-overs on shelves at anywhere but warehouse distributors. Thirty-over is so common & auto machinists are like others ... they get used to doing what is most common ... and most don't have much time for "researching" or doing homework.

Ok, I should have the car back tommarow. I also talked to the shop today and got a better idea what happened. It was not entirely the tranie that I had asumed, or the drive of the new rear end thru the trannie.

The tranie shop found chucks of my stall converter scattered threw out the transmission. They are telling me thats what gave out, and then preceded to work its way threw the tranie killing that. It also took one of the ... pulminary ( spelling ) gears as well!!

Anyway it should all be resolved soon. One question on the trannie cooler we are installing . Should I contiue to run the fluid threw the radiator and then the new cooler as well ?? Or just run the tranie cooler alone. I am hereing mixed opinions . My main goal is to help drop tranie and engine temp too.

cmegga: I recall you saying that your motor seems to run hot(?) If this is the case, just run the cooler lines through the external cooler. Doing this may help the radiator to cool your engine better. Make sure that the trans cooler your using is rated for your car (measured in gross vehicle weight) & it should do the trick. Also, you should try & put the cooler first in line before the radiator (& before the condenser if air equipted). I've got a real thin cooler mounted before my condenser. It's a tight fit & comes real close to the hood when the hood is opened in the locked surrort position, but it "clears". Sorry again about your trans. If the converter gave out, as I supected, then it would of did even without the gear change. After you get all of the "bugs" worked out, let me know how it performs. Take care!

Gott her back !!

Running good so far , We eneded up switch to a non lock up converter after all. When my mechanic had here do he told them to eliminate all the lock up part. He also said it was a better way to go if I was going to be driving her hard.
