WOW, talk about close encounters??? How many miles on your 98? Happy with your purchase?

I love my 98 and yes that pic was from the Ebay listing. The only issues I ran into is the tires were not what I would ride on. The wear bars were just starting to show and the rear had a rumble that turned out to be rear hub bearings. The total additional cost cam out to be $1500.. But, it was the color combo I wanted so I bit the bullet.

I'll be posting new pics sometime today!! Keep in touch!!:D :v :m

Yeah, no kidding about the close encounters! I even went back and looked at my eBay watch list, and sure enough, there was your Vette (minus the pics now, though). My '98 had ~76,600 miles on it when I got it, and I've put about 1500-1800 on it (can't remember if it's 78.1K or 78.4K right now) since I got it. About 900 of those miles were from driving it down to West Palm and then back up to B'ham.

Except for the expected few minor things, it's in fantastic shape, both inside and out! I think (hope!) i have probably 50-60% of the tire life remaining, and I'm leaning toward replacing the rear shocks soon, as the back end tends to jump sideways on bumps while cornering.

What kind of tires did you go with for replacements? Mine has Firehawk SZ50 EP EMTs on it now, and given the good reviews at Tirerack.com, I'll probably stick with those when the time comes.

Looking forward to seeing the new pics! I might see if I can park some pics of mine somewhere and give you a better look! BTW, thanks for the compliment, UB2 SLOW! I'm having a ball and just continue to marvel at the care taken by the previous owners (one from 0-75000 miles, most recent only 1100 miles).

Sounds great!!! Wish we lived closer!! I have all new pics on my web site so, you can take a look at her any time :) By the way, I went with NITTO tires (NT-555's), http://www.nittotire.com/mainframe.asp The price was very good and the performance looked impressive.. I could not see spending another $500 on run flats, not worth it.. I'll just carry a can of fix-a-flat..:D

I don't know if anybody still would like to see, but as I discussed doing earlier, I've finally put several pics of my new ride on my web site. I don't have a slick web page set up yet for easy loading, but you can simply go to the directory listing and load them one at a time, if you so choose!

Have a look and enjoy! Aren't these cars great?! :v

For a little background on the pics, most of them were taken in and around West Palm Beach, FL, during the weekend that I picked up the car. I'm the guy in a few of the photos, and the girl is a friend of mine who lives there. The very first pic in the directory is in the previous owners driveway, as I'm purchasing the car... :D The ones toward the end are back at my apt. complex in Birmingham, after a good bath (the car, not me!).

Nice Pics!!! Beglad you did not do business with that guy in Miami... He turned out not to be as honest as I thought. He has many Complaints on him with the better business bureau.

Here is my email, send me a note and I'll fill you in.. nriale@optonline.net

Me too, this is a blast to drive:Steer :v

BTW, I'm on my 6th coat of Zanio:D
