These are pretty specific questions, but who knows.
I happen to have one of about 50 vettes built for 1985 with an RPO for factory delete radio. When I bought the car, it had your basic Delco radio/tape deck and speakers in the dash and rear quarters. At some point, someone butchered the wiring presumably installing an amp in one of the storage compartments behind the seats. During my restoration project I decided to remove those aftermarket wires and attempt to put things back reasonably close to original.
Taking things apart I found the following:
1. The rear speakers have Bose amps.
2. It looks like the original wiring harness has the correct wires for a Bose system.
3. I do not see amps for the front speakers.
Here are my questions:
1. On a radio delete vehicle, do you think they would install a harness for a Bose radio?
2. Do you think the Bose amps got there because someone needed the box to mount speakers?
3. If the amps work, could they be used with a stock Delco radio?
